Granby Free Public Library

Granby, CT

In 1973, residents of the town of Granby, Massachusetts began their quest for a new library to replace the one originally built in 1917. After 40 years of tireless fundraising efforts, the new $4.7 million Granby Free Public Library became a reality at its 2012 groundbreaking and subsequent 2013 grand opening.

Western was selected as the builder for the new 12,062 sq ft library. A representative example of Western’s commitment to building education, the Granby Free Public Library is a marriage of stately detail and easy maintenance. Hardy plank siding, insulated roof panels, and sophisticated millwork are but a few of the features that have come together to craft this nurturing environment for students and the entire Granby community.

Today, the new library serves as the community’s center where everyone’s recreational, informational, and education needs can be served. Approximately 100 to 300 patrons visit the library daily.
