Adding to the portfolio of experienced hotelier Pioneer Valley Hotel Group, Western Builders was commissioned for the construction of Homewood Suites in Hadley, Massachusetts. The hotel was designed to address the needs of extended-stay guests in the Amherst area – a need that had not previously been served.
Throughout the building process, many hurdles arose ranging from winter conditions to owner-directed changes, all of which needed to be accommodated while maintaining both schedule and the desired outcomes for the project. Additionally, Western Builders worked directly with Hilton to coordinate and meet all specifications required for the franchise.
Opening in Spring 2019, the completed 3-story, 96-suite hotel offers studio, one- and two-bedroom units with fully equipped kitchens, an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and dining area. The new 83,000 sq ft hotel also meets requirements for stretch energy code, and offsets approximately 40% of its annual energy consumption through a 265-kilowatt PV array discreetly set on its roof.
