The Hillside at Providence

The Hillside at Providence, a development by the Sisters of Providence, is an innovative, healthcare-integrated senior housing model for low-income frail elders. It combines an independent-living facility alongside Mercy Life health care services located on the same campus. The goal is to allow residents to remain independent, healthy, engaged, and enjoying a quality of life not feasible if they were to live in a nursing home.
The project took eight years of painstaking effort by the Sisters of Providence to secure funding. Groundbreaking of the $10 million, 36-unit facility took place in 2018, with the grand opening celebrated in September 2019. Western Builders worked alongside Studio One architects to bring this dream to reality.
Western is extremely proud to have played a role in this socially significant project. By blending cutting-edge healthcare and affordable senior housing, it will bring needed services to what has historically been an underserved segment of the population.
